Technical Engineering

The successful applicant would be responsible for managing our engineering team and providing technical support to all stakeholders, monitoring, reporting, and enhancing service delivery and compliance. They require an in-depth knowledge of British Standards, codes of practice and technical understanding of fire life safety systems including fire alarm, aspiration, PAVA and gas suppression etc.


  • The key focus of this role is to manage, maintain, develop and support the engineering team with delivering works and services to all customers
  • Support the business in achieving high levels of customer satisfaction as required from a technical perspective
  • Carry out regular audits for sites and engineering capabilities
  • Responsible for monitoring, diagnosing and reporting on compliance and site operational issues in conjunction with applicable British Standards/codes of practice
  • Have high level of understanding of mainstream manufacturers, systems and software and be able to interrogate and recommend solutions/repairs
  • Have strong understanding of third party connections and linking such as, sprinkler flow switches and valves, access control and door retainer interfacing plus fire system interlinking and monitoring. Be able to offer best practice advice to colleagues and have a good understanding of event logic/programming and cause and effects requirements
  • Encourage and develop engineers in conjunction with training and best practices
  • Ensure engineering team training needs are identified, supported and implemented
  • Ensure all engineers are holding necessary equipment to carry out daily tasks
  • Assist with ensuring all company accreditations are up held
  • Provide technical support to engineering teams, coordinators, clients and managers as required
  • Carry out periodic site inspections ensuring log books are updated correctly, and sites are asset registered accurately, labelled accordingly and are tested correctly
  • Support initial maintenance takeover visits for new sites, document SOP’s ensuring assets are detailed correctly
  • Promote and monitor H&S culture across the engineering team
  • Attend operational meetings as required
  • Ensure regular communication and monitoring with engineering team via phone and onsite




  • Managerial/Supervisory Experience
  • Excellent knowledge of British Standards
  • Excellent technical knowledge
